Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a Pharmacist and accountable to the Pharmacy Director, assists the department in the procurement, packaging, distribution, and control of medication to the patients
- Receives and stocks medications
- Prepares unit dose, bulk, and intravenous medications for dispensing
- Pre-packages non-unit dose medications
- Checks Pyxis inventory and refills medications in Pyxis units
- Provides delivery of doses
- Prepares IV Admixtures
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of patients' right to confidentiality
Qualifications
- Must have basic math skills
- National certification preferred or must be completed within one year
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
