We have 24/7 pediatric hospitalist coverage and our board certified OB/GYN physicians deliver on average, 300 babies a year. Responsibilities

  • Delivers general nursing care to patients from the prenatal period through adolescence, serving the nursing care needs of families as well. 
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order. 
  • Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents. 
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients. 
  • Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress. 
  • Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction. 
  • Under supervision, organizes and directs the work of a nursing unit and its programs; coordinates staff to assure that effective clinical services are provided, and quality standards are met.
  • The position provides assistance relating to administrative functions to the Director and or CNO and serves as a representative of the department and acts as a liaison to other departments, physicians and individuals. 

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel  
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required  
  • Ability to interpret fetal monitor rhythms and complete newborn assessments  
  • 5 years of OB experience is preferred  
  • Nursery/Pediatric experience preferred  
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is preferred, or must be willing to complete
  • BLS certification preferred
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • PALS certification preferred

Working Hours

- Full-Time
- 7P-7:30A
- Every 12th weekend (Friday & Saturday night)
